Older Children
If your children are ages 9-13 they are going to love Family Camp. I mean what could be better that a 320 acre playground full of creeks to walk, fossils to find, horses to ride, and diving boards to jump off of. The best part is that as a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle you get to be as involved as you want. Whether it is creating "I can't believe we did that together" memories, encouraging your child to try something new, or letting them have some space as they develop independence and make friends in a safe environment. This weekend away from a busy schedule of practices, sleepovers, and video games will draw your entire family together.

What activities will there be for my child? Are there any we could do together?
There are many different activities at Family Camp all of which families can participate together. The whole family can go on a scenic horseback ride, cool down in the pool, see who the family Robbin Hood is at the archery range, and encourage one another at our challenge course. In addition the day will have games and crafts for all to participate in.

How technology friendly is Heartland?
One of the best parts about Family Camp is the opportunity to unplug to be together. By substituting television and video games for horse rides and swimming you have a chance to build memories together. Heartland is not completely isolated though. Cell service is easy to find anywhere on camp and WiFi is available around our main office.

What are my family's sleeping arrangements?
Each family bunks in their own private room which is great for an afternoon nap. Each room is climate controlled and has their own private bathroom. We know that each family is different so whether you have two or ten in your family we have a sleeping arrangement perfect for you.

What will we learn at family camp?
Heartland's Family Camp is focused on having each family grow together in Christ. Children 9-13 are able to start pushing the boundaries of their faith, testing and questioning. Through worship and Bible study the whole family will get to interact with these questions, building a foundation for more sharing at home.
