Overnight Camps

OUR PROGRAM

We are passionate about making sure your camper is personally known and celebrated during their week of camp. They will never be just a face in the crowd. We commit to this because we are absolutely convinced that Christ-centered relationships change lives.

To build these close camp friendships, all our campers are placed in “family groups” of two counselors and 12-14 campers. This group does everything together from morning Bible study to activities, like swimming, horseback riding, and nightly worship. In these small groups, campers are able to talk with their counselors and fellow campers deeply about faith, personal life, and exactly what superhero would be best at delivering pizza.

At Heartland, we are dedicated to helping children and youth dive into their relationship with God. Learning faith, just like learning a language, is best done through an immersion experience. At Heartland Summer Camp, campers will be immersed in scripture, song, and Christian community. If that faith experience involves zip lines, rock walls, horses, archery, creek walks, and swimming, all the better!

I was raised to have a relationship with Jesus, but it was never really MY relationship with Jesus until this summer... I grew a true and personal relationship with Jesus that I had never developed before, through the help of camp counselors, directors, and fellow campers.
— Courtney, Senior High Camper

Our counselors will journey with their small group of campers through a weekly curriculum focused on the foundations of faith and a personal relationship with Jesus. We tie our lessons in with crafts and games to encourage our campers to live Christ-like lives that extend past the summer.

OUR STAFF

We believe our best quality is our exceptional college-age summer staff; they are the key to our relational ministry. Their love for campers and dedication to helping them understand what living a life for Christ looks like never ceases to amaze us. Our trained counselors are positive Christian role models who encourage campers to make the most of their time at Heartland and hold onto the lessons they learn and the friends they make.

Heartland Summer Camp interviews and selects exceptional and qualified Christian young adults who will be camp directors, counselors and other staff (such as horse wranglers or kitchen crew).  The camp performs national and local background checks.  The staff also complete a two-week training session.  Counselors are at least 18 years old.

All staff are CPR/First Aid trained and certified should any emergency situation arise.

I just can’t imagine a better place with better counselors. I am impressed each year with the dedication of your counselors and patience and love they have for the children.

The campers had incredible weeks. They had fun, learned so much and really grew to become a family, the Body of Christ.
